4.0-magnitude earthquake hits eastern Samar

(Eagle News) — A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck eastern Samar on Saturday, the Philippine Institute for Volcanology and Seismology said. PHIVOLCS said the quake hit 56 kilometers northeast of San Policarpo at 3:45 a.m. The depth of focus of the earthquake, which was tectonic in origin, was at 5 kilometers. There were no reported aftershocks.    

4.3-magnitude quake jolts Leyte early Wednesday

(Eagle News) — A 4.3-magnitude earthquake jolted Leyte early Wednesday. The quake–which was of tectonic origin—took place eight kilometers northwest of Kananga, at 1 a.m. Depth of focus was at 8 kilometers. An Intensity IV was felt in Capoocan and Palompon, Leyte; and an Intensity II in Cebu City. On Tuesday afternoon, Albuera Leyte, was jolted by a 3.7-magnitude quake that was felt at an Intensity IV in Ormoc City.  

Alert Level 3 hoisted over Mayon volcano

(Eagle News) — An alert level 3 was hoisted over Mt. Mayon in Albay on Sunday night. 4.6-magnitude quake hits Nueva Vizcaya

(Eagle News) — A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck Nueva Vizcaya on Tuesday. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake took place seven kilometers east of Kayapa. The earthquake–which struck at 12:12 p.m.–was tectonic in origin. There were no reported aftershocks.

5.2-magnitude quake strikes off Sarangani

(Eagle News) — A  5.2-magnitude earthquake struck at sea off Sarangani  in Davao Occidental on Monday. The quake struck at 8:47 p.m. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said that it had a depth of focus of 12 kilometers. The epicenter was some 236 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. No damage was reported.

PHIVOLCS “closely monitoring” Mt. Kanlaon after 578 earthquakes were recorded there in 24 hours

(Eagle News) — The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology on Wednesday said that 578 earthquakes were recorded in Mt. Kanlaon in the last 24 hours. 4.5-magnitude quake strikes southern Leyte

(Eagle News) — A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck Southern Leyte on Sunday. The Philippine Institute for Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit fourteen kilometers southeast of the municipality of Pintuyan at 2:33 in the afternoon. No aftershocks were expected.

4.1-magnitude quake strikes Zamboanga del Sur

(Eagle News) — A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck Zamboanga del Sur on Monday. The Philippine Institute for Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit seven kilometers southeast of the municipality of Lapuyan at 12:53 in the morning. No aftershocks were expected.

4.1-magnitude quake strikes Batangas

(Eagle News) — A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck Batangas on Monday. The Philippine Institute for Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit twelve kilometers northwest of the municipality of Calatagan at 5:01 in the morning. No aftershocks were expected.

5.4-magnitude quake strikes Batangas

(Eagle News) — A 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck Batangas on Sunday. The Philippine Institute for Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit nine kilometers southwest of Municipality of Lian at 10:21 p.m. Aftershocks are expected.
