Duterte names military man as NIA head

(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed the new head of the National Irrigation Administration. Quoting Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol, a radio report said Duterte appointed former Armed Forces of the Philippines chief of staff General Ricardo Visayas at the helm of the agency. The appointment comes days after Peter Laviña, former campaign spokesperson of Duterte, resigned from the NIA’s top post amid corruption allegations.
