Comelec suspends people’s initiative proceedings to amend Charter

(Eagle News)–The Commission on Elections has suspended people’s initiative  proceedings aimed at amending the 1987 Constitution. Alvarez: 2019 polls can be postponed via people’s initiative

(Eagle News) — Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez on Monday, July 16, reiterated his proposal the elections in 2019 be postponed to supposedly ensure a smooth transition to the federal type of government.
