(Eagle News) — The Senate has ordered the arrest of former Commission on Elections Chair Andres Bautista. Senator Francis Escudero said Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III and Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Jose Balajadia signed the warrant issued against the former COMELEC chair for his failure to attend Escudero’s committee hearings on Bautista’s alleged unexplained wealth, last Wednesday. House justice panel approves resolution, report junking impeach complaint vs Comelec Chair Bautista

(Eagle News) — The House Justice panel on Thursday approved the committee report and resolution that dismissed the impeachment complaint filed against Commission on Elections chair Andres Bautista. Nineteen members voted for the motion of Misamis Occidental Representative Henry Oaminal to make such an approval. Only two members—Rep. Gwen Garcia and Rep.
