Bello: Kuwait has “informally accepted” MOU provisions for protection of OFWs

(Eagle News)– Kuwait has “informally accepted” the provisions aimed at protecting Overseas Filipino Workers in the Middle Eastern country. In a radio interview on Wednesday, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said a Kuwaiti official was slated to come to the Philippines in order to finalize the Memorandum of Understanding containing the additional provisions. De Lima urges DFA, DOLE to look into “auction” of Filipino maids in Saudi Arabia

(Eagle News) — Senator Leila de Lima on Thursday urged the foreign affairs and labor departments to look into what she said was an “auction” of  Filipino maids in Saudi Arabia. OFW who was reported missing in Kuwait, now safe in Saudi Arabia

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — Noriza Manambit, an overseas Filipino worker earlier reported to be missing in Kuwait, is found to be alive and safe in Saudi Arabia, according to Hans Leo Cacdac, the Overseas Worker Welfare Administrator. Cacdac said that Manambit was located by Philippine labor officials in Saudi Arabia. The Filipina went abroad to work as a domestic helper and was declared missing in 2017 by her relatives in the Philippines.

OWWA: Almost 200 OFW deaths in Kuwait in past few years

(Eagle News) — Kuwait has invited President Rodrigo Duterte anew following  the imposition of a total ban on the deployment of Overseas Filipino Workers to the Middle Eastern country.
