MMDA collects 9 tons of illegal campaign materials

MAKATI City, Philippines – According to Metro Manila Development Authority, ever since the start of the “Oplan Baklas”, it has confiscated 9 tons of illegal campaign materials. Said materials will be donated to organizations that will recycle said materials. The MMDA plans to assign personnel to do monitoring during nighttime which is the time when illegal campaign materials are installed. Oplan baklas ng COMELEC, susuportahan ng PNP

QUEZON City, Philippines — Sisimulan na ng Commission on Elections (COMELEC) ang pagpapatupad ng “oplan baklas” o pagtatanggal ng mga campaign poster na wala sa designated areas at lumalabag sa iba pang patakaran. Nakahanda naman ang Philippine National Police (PNP) na magbigay ng seguridad sa mga tauhan ng COMELEC o sa anumang ahensya na naatasan ng Comelec na magpatupad ng oplan baklas. (Eagle News Service)

“Oplan Baklas” starts on February 9

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority will start “Oplan Baklas” on Tuesday, February 9. MMDA will remove campaign materials from areas not designated by the Commission on Elections like light posts, trees and traffic signals to ensure an eco-friendly election. The public is encouraged to report violators to the COMELEC.
