Office of the President upholds dismissal of Deputy Ombudsman Carandang

(Eagle News)–The Office of the President has affirmed the dismissal of Deputy Ombudsman Melchor Carandang. Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea confirmed this in a radio dzmm interview on Monday, June 3. According to Medialdea, the OP denied Carandang’s motion for reconsideration because it merely contained the same argument that the OP already found “unpersuasive” in an earlier decision. House approves proposed P6.7-billion budget for OP

(Eagle News)–The House of Representatives on Wednesday, Aug. 29, approved the proposed P6.773 billion 2019 budget of the Office of the President–in less than ten minutes. It was Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman who made the motion to approve the budget after representatives of the OP made their presentation. Rep. Prospero Pichay seconded the motion. The  proposed 2019 budget of the OP is higher than its P6-billion appropriation in 2018.
