“No classes” in all levels declared in NCR, 15 Luzon provinces – Deped
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Education has declared that there will be “no classes” in all school levels in Metro Manila and 15 provinces in Luzon. MANILA, Philippines — Malacanang has announced the suspension of classes on all levels, both in public and private schools, in Metro Manila and several provinces in Luzon affected by typhoon “Luis” (international name Kalmaegi) on Monday. Dengue cases in NCR, decreasing
According to the National Capital Region Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit of the Department of Health, from January 1 to August 30, only 3, 096 dengue cases were recorded. This is a 75% decrease compared to last year’s 12, 473 cases recorded in the same period. Most of the dengue cases in Metro Manila were recorded in Manila with 663 cases, followed by Quezon City, Caloocan City, Las Piñas, Parañaque and Pasig City.
Proposed P135 wage hike in NCR still under review
The proposed P135 increase was the rate for Metro Manila, computed using government data, “for the nominal minimum wage of P466 to become real wage,” TUCP said. The Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) said it would demand for a P135 across-the-board wage increase to augment the present daily minimum wage of P466.
