MWSS approves new water rate adjustments for Maynilad, Manila Water

MANILA, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) has approved the tariff adjustment proposal of Maynilad and Manila Water Corporation. Manila Water is expected to increase its rate adjustment by 36 centavos per cubic centimeter while Maynilad is expected to raise its by 77 centavos per cubic centimeters. Government to tighten rules regarding water concessionaires

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) – The government will tighten the rules on auditing and reporting affecting the two water concessionaires in Metro Manila. Accordinhg to the Metropolitan Waterwork and Sewerage System, the audit will now be conducted yearly compared to every five years. Water bills may increase

The Maynilad is now proposing the implementation of higher rate for water after winning the arbitration proceedings and submitted the proposed increase to the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) Regulatory Board.
