MMDA suspends number coding

MANILA, Sept. 19 (PNA) — Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) suspended Friday the number coding for motorists, except in Makati and Las Pinas due to flooded streets brought about by Tropical Storm “Mario.” Under the traffic scheme, vehicles with plate numbers ending in 0 and 9 are not allowed to travel around the metropolis on Fridays. Heavy rains spawned by Tropical Storm “Mario” continues to intensify as it moves towards northern Luzon. (PNA)

New ferry station

A new ferry station will be opened today at the Pasig River. According to Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Francis Tolentino, the 7th passenger terminal in San Joaquin, Pasig will help lessen the traffic problem of Metro Manila. Tolentino added that the five ferries will accept passengers at the San Joaquin terminal and bring them to Guadalupe, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Plaza Mexico, Intramuros and Escolta.

MMDA lays down truck route

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has laid down the two week truck route that will help decongest the Manila port. Said decongestion is expected to cause heavy traffic.

MMDA asks motorists to avoid Gil Puyat Avenue and Roxas Boulevard

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority is asking motorists to avoid Gil Puyat Avenue and Roxas Boulevard on May 21-23 for the World Eco Forum on East Asia, which will be held at the Philippine International Convention Center or PICC.
