(Eagle News) – A 6.1 magnitude quake rocked northeast Japan, particularly 144 kilometers northeast of Miyako in Iwate Prefecture on Honshu island, on Thursday, April 11, according to the US Geological Survey. The quake had a depth of 12.2 kilometers, and was 133 kilometers from Kuji, Iwate, Japan, the USGS said. There were so far no reports of damage or casualties. The quake struck 8:18 a.m. UTC time or 4:18 p.m. Philippine time.
