Senate to begin “bullet-planting” probe on Thursday; Abaya among resource persons

The Senate scheduled on Thursday, November 12 its inquiry into the “bullet-planting” extortion scheme at the country’s airports. Sen. DOTC and MIAA officials face complaints in the Ombudsman

Senator Alan Peter Cayetano filed an administrative complaint against the officials of the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) as well as the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) in the Office of the Ombudsman regarding the “laglag-bala” scam. Cayetano cited EO 226 as his basis for filing the administrative complaint against said officials. NAIA records 150-200 delayed flights daily

According to reports, 150 – 200 flights are delayed daily in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport or NAIA with the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) saying that it is the airlines’ fault while the airlines defended themselves, saying that the government should improve the facilities of the said airport. MIAA installs new full-body scanners at NAIA
