Magnitude 6.1 earthquake strikes northeastern Japan

TOKYO: An earthquake measuring 6.1 magnitude struck off northeastern Japan on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. There was no immediate tsunami warning, or reports of damage or casualties.
