PASIG City, Philippines (Eagle News) – According to the Department of Education, the government has set aside three billion pesos for the construction of new classrooms in public schools in preparation for the implementation of the K-12 program. According to Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto, the government should first install vocational and technical laboratories in public schools instead of the K-12 program.
The Department of Education formed a technical working group to assess the K-12 program.
The Alliance of Concerned Teachers were dismayed after their dialogue with the Department of Labor and Employment did not bear concrete results as there is still no guidelines regarding the K-12 program, College teachers and professors can lose their jobs because there will be a lack of college students for two years under the K-12 program.
