SWS: Hunger rate in December 2019 lowest in 15 years

SWS: Total hunger down to 9.1 percent in September

(Eagle News)–Total hunger in the country subsided to 9.1 percent in September, a recent Social Weather Stations found. According to the Third Quarter 2019 Social Weather Survey  conductedfrom September 27-30, the 9.1 percent was a recovery from the 10.0% hunger rate recorded in June 2019, following an increase from the 9.5 percent in March. (Eagle News) — The average hunger rate for all quarters of 2017 was the lowest recorded since 2004, the Social Weather Stations said. The SWS said the rate of 12.3%  was one point below the 13.3% recorded in 2016, and a bit higher than the 11.8 percent recorded in 2004.
