Militants protest EDCA

MANILA, Philippines (Eagle News) — Various militant groups staged protests outside the United States embassy condemning the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) as well as the 2015 Balikatan exercises. Senate starts probe on EDCA

The Senate starts its probe on the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement between the Philippines and the United States. Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago said that the public has the right to know if the Philippines will really benefit from the said agreement.

Senate conducts hearings on EDCA

Senate starts hearing regarding EDCA

The Senate will now start its hearing on the newly-signed Enhanced Defense Comprehensive Agreement or EDCA with Senate Defense Committee Chairman Senator Antonio Trillanes IV at its lead. Many protests were made regarding the EDCA with Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago as one of those who were questioning the legality of the agreement.
