Weather bureau PAGASA is monitoring a low-pressure area inside the Philippine area of responsibility. Located in eastern Mindanao, where there is also currently an intertropical convergence zone, causing rains in Visayas and Mindanao.
The low pressure area being monitored by PAGASA finally developed into a storm, designated by the agency as “Caloy”. The storm hit eastern Mindanao, with Davao and other provinces being put under signal number 1.
