Duterte sacks Labor Undersecretary Maglunsod

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte has fired Labor Undersecretary Joel Maglunsod. A report said this was due to his alleged failure to put a stop to several labor strikes. Duterte made the announcement as he spoke to rebel-returnees in Catarman on Tuesday, Oct. 2. Maglunsod was one of several leftists Duterte included in his Cabinet.

DOLE releases rules on payment of wages for Aug. 21

(Eagle News) — The Department of Labor and Employment on Monday, May 28, released its list of Top 20 labor-only contracting companies. According to DOLE, Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) had the most contractual employees, with 14,990 workers. IBON says January 2018 employment rate in PHL at 94.7%; Roque notes increase from rate recorded in January 2017
