(Eagle News)—-Wednesday, Feb. 13, has been declared a special non-working holiday in Parañaque. In making the declaration in Proclamation No. 665, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, by authority of President Rodrigo Duterte, said it was “but fitting and proper that the people of the city..be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate” in the activities marking Parañaque’s cityhood anniversary. The proclamation was signed on Feb. 6.

An eight-hour ceasefire in Marawi came to an abrupt end Sunday afternoon as the government continued its offensive against Islamist militants occupying parts of the city.
