Japan and China in talks on improving relations

BEIJING, China (Reuters) — Shotaro Yachi, head of Japan’s National Security Council, met with Chinese state councilor Yang Jiechi on Thursday (August 25) for talks in Beijing. The two shook hands at the Diaoyutai state guesthouse before sitting down to talks in which they discussed improving relations between the two countries. China calls for long-term solution of territorial dispute

China’s Foreign Ministry called for a long-term solution on the territorial dispute in the West Philippine Sea. China also added that such a solution can be achieved through a dialogue between the disputing countries.
