According to the Department of Tourism (DOT) in Region 6, in the first six months alone, foreign tourist arrivals in the region have reached over 2 million. DOT Regional Director Helen Catalyst said that the top foreign tourists to visit Region 6 are Koreans. They are followed by the Chinese, the Taiwanese, Americans and Malaysians.

(Eagle News) – The number of tourists who are visiting the country continues to rise despite the ongoing crisis in Marawi City. According to Tourism Assistant Secretary Ricky Alegre, Boracay, Bohol and Palawan are the places with high tourist arrivals. Alegre said more than 600,000 tourists visit the country every month, including Koreans, Americans and Chinese. The DOT also noted the increasing number of Chinese tourists after President Rodrigo Duterte’s state visit in China.
