Manila court bars foreigners indicted over P6.4-billion shabu shipment mess from leaving PHL

(Eagle News) — The Manila Regional Trial Court has issued hold departure orders against the foreigners indicted over the P6.4-billion shabu shipment mess. Duterte appoints new BOC assistant commissioner

(Eagle News) — The Bureau of Customs has a new assistant commissioner. President Rodrigo Duterte appointed  Vincent Philip Maronilla to the post previously held by Ariel Nepomuceno. Nepomuceno resigned in March. Maronilla and several other Customs officials were implicated in the P6.4-billion shabu shipment mess in May but were cleared by a Department of Justice panel of prosecutors for lack of probable cause.  

Dominguez to BoC: Set up “data arrangements” with 3 PHL trade partners to curb smuggling

Bureau of Customs: P8.98 million worth of misdeclared goods seized at Port of Manila

(Eagle News) — The Bureau of Customs has intercepted P8.98 million worth of misdeclared goods from the Port of Manila. In a statement on Monday, the BoC said the two-footer vans were intercepted upon their arrival in February and December last year. The shipment that contained cigarettes arrived on February 21. Manila court orders transfer of Taguba to PNP jail

(Eagle News) — The Manila Regional Trial Court on Friday ordered the transfer of Customs broker Mark Ruben Taguba to the Philippine National Police Custodial Center, citing security reasons. Branch 46 Judge Rainelda Estacio-Montesa also moved the arraignment of Taguba and  Eirene Mae Tatad to April 6. Taguba and Tatad have pending motions that sought the dismissal of cases against them.
