Blast rocks Masbate port; several boats damaged

(Eagle News)—–Several boats sustained damages after a blast ripped through Masbate  early Sunday. The explosion took place near a  Philippine Coast Guard station in Masbate Port at 12:30 a.m. Two aluminum boats were damaged and  a newly procured rescue boat from the Philippine Army was destroyed, the PCG said. An investigation  is ongoing.

14 children drown in Russia lake tragedy

MOSCOW, Russia (AFP) — At least 14 children on a summer camp in northeast Russia drowned when their boats capsized in a storm on a lake, investigators said Sunday.
