COMELEC asks voters to avoid last minute registration

As the last day of voters and biometrics registration nears, the Commission on Elections  (COMELEC) once again asked the public to avoid last-minute registration. COMELEC targets new 13 million new voters

The Commission on Elections targets 13 million new voters to register, including those with no biometrics, on the May 16 voters registration. Comelec expects 3 million new voters to register while 9 million registered voters will undergo biometrics registration. Registered voters with no biometrics will be disenfranchised in the 2016 elections. Said registration will start on May 6, 2014 and will last until October 31, 2015.
