(Eagle News) — A 4.5-magnitude quake hit Surigao del Norte on Saturday, December 30. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the earthquake hit three kilometers southwest of Burgos town at 9:24 a.m. The depth of focus of the quake–which was tectonic in origin—was at 11 kilometers.
(Eagle News) — A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck Southern Leyte on Sunday. The Philippine Institute for Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit fourteen kilometers southeast of the municipality of Pintuyan at 2:33 in the afternoon. No aftershocks were expected.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake jolted the province at 1:54 p.m., minutes after another of a 4.5 magnitude shook Davao Occidental. Depth of focus of the second earthquake was pegged at 28 kilometers. There were no reported casualties.
