Sotto says his high approval rating due to good performance of Senate

(Eagle News)–Senate President Tito Sotto on Wednesday, July 17, welcomed his high approval rating, attributing the same to the good performance of the Senate in the 17th Congress.

“We, at the Senate, dispense our duties not for the sake of high or good ratings but with our mandate and public interest in mind,” Sotto said.

He said he was deeply “humbled” by the results, and gave the assurance the Senate would “continue to strive and focus on our legislative work” under his leadership.

In the recent Pulse Asia survey, Sotto obtained a 77 percent rating.

President Rodrigo Duterte was still the most trusted government official, with a trust and approval rating of 85 percent.
