(Eagle News) — Authorities on Tuesday arrested the son of a former volleyball coach after he prevented law enforcers from apprehending his father, who has warrants for his arrest for rape of a minor, among others.
John Erick Laping was arrested in Quezon City for what authorities said was obstruction of justice.
This was after Laping prevented policemen from implementing the warrants against Dennis Laping,44, who was seen entering their house in Barangay Old Balara around 4 p.m.
The warrants issued by Marikina and Antipolo courts against Laping’s father, a former volleyball coach at the Our Lady of Succor Perpetual College in Marikina, stem from his alleged taking advantage sexually of a 12-year-old girl several times during volleyball practice and inside his car.
Because of the younger Laping’s alleged interference, his father managed to escape.
The family of the minor is offering a P100,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of the former volleyball coach.
