CLAIREFONTAINE, France (Reuters) — Brazilian forward Neymar could become the most expensive transfer in history if he signs a deal with Paris St Germain.

Media reports suggest the Barcelona forward is in Doha to meet Paris St Germain’s Qatari owners before undergoing a medical.

European media report the club could pay as much as 222 million euros for Neymar.

Paul Pogba’s move from Juventus to Manchester United in 2016 is the most expensive transfer to date at 105 million euros.

Real Madrid paid 100.8 million euros for Gareth Bale when he joined from Tottenham in 2013.

The next biggest price tag is 94 million euros for Cristiano Ronaldo’s move from Manchester United to Real Madrid.

Juventus paid 90 million euros for Gonzalo Higuain’s transfer from Napoli in 2016.

Neymar currently rounds out the top five with his 2013 signing by Barcelona from Santos for 86.2 million euros.
