LAS VEGAS (Eagle News ) — It didn’t stick on the ground but Las Vegas locals did enjoy about two minutes of snow recently in the Southwest part of the valley around 1:30 pm local time. There were also reports of sporadic snowing in the West Las Vegas and Summerlin areas, about 15 minutes north of the strip.

Compared to those who are used to living in the snow and may not think it’s a big deal, Las Vegas locals were truly amused by the little snow they got to experience which was not even on the weather forecast for the day.

“We were almost at the golf course when all of a sudden it started snowing,” said Ed Gravidez, a Las Vegas resident.

But only a couple hours later, as fast as the the heavy clouds came, they lifted and blue skies were seen in the horizon.

The last record of a snow storm hitting Las Vegas was in December 2008 when the valley was covered with an average of 3.5 ft of snow for one day.
