San Miguel Beermen center June Mar Fajardo made history once again after grabbing the Best Player of the Conference Award of the 2018 Philippine Cup, his 6th and the most by any player in PBA history.

Fajardo received the BPAC plum just before the start of Game 4 of the Philippine Cup Finals at the Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday night.

Fajardo averaged 22.9 points, 12.9 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in this All-Filipino conference. He registered 1279 points to capture the award, a wide margin over his teammate and runner-up Arwind Santos who got 670 points. Ginebra’s Japeth Aguilar came in at 3rd with 589 points, GlobalPort combo guard Stanley Pringle followed with 406 while JP Erram of Blackwater accumulated 392 to finish 5th.

The Cebuano big-man has now broken the record held by mentor and former SMB teammate Danny Ildefenso, who won five BPC awards from 2000 to 2001.

This is now Fajardo’s 5th straight Phillipine Cup Best Player award. He was also named as the top player of the 2015 Governors’ Cup.
