Reuters – A Siberian tiger gave birth to four cubs on Friday in Siberian Tiger Park in Harbin, northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province.

The four cubs are doing well and expected to make their debut before the public in May, according to Wang Zhanjun, a breeder in the park.

“Normally, they should be with their mother. But the mother isn’t very motherly, so we have taken them away for artificial feeding and will put them back sometime later to see if the mother will take care of them,” said Wang.

Park workers are taking care of them round the clock and check their temperatures regularly.

Wang said the park anticipates a birth peak of Siberian tigers in May.

“Now we have some 30 tiger-mothers-to-be. The two behind me will give birth in April. The birth peak is in May and June,” said Wang.
