(Eagle News) — Senator JV Ejercito on Tuesday hinted about his “local adversaries” being behind a bomb scare near a plaza in San Juan City where a concert he organized was supposed to be held.
“Happening tonight at the Plaza in San Juan! May bomb threat pa! Too much of a coincidence? Desperate moves by local adversaries! Ayaw tumigil. Pero tuloy ang rakrakan!” Ejercito said in a Twitter post.
The Zamoras are the senator’s family’s political rivals.
Authorities later ruled the bag left at Puregold Agora did not contain explosives.
Only recently, former San Juan Vice Mayor Francis Zamora accused Mayor Guia Gomez, Ejercito’s mother, of hiding from the election officer who was supposed to serve a notice on the Commission on Elections’ approval of a recall election against her.
The approval stems from a petition filed by supporters of Zamora, who lost to Gomez in the recently held mayoralty elections.
