(Eagle News) The Marikina government has issued a second alarm for the Marikina river, prompting nearby residents to evacuate, as the water level continued to rise because of continuous heavy monsoon rains.

As of 4:07 pm, the water level in the Marikina river was at 17.1 meters prompting the local government to raise the second alarm.
This means nearby residents already need to evacuate.

The water level, however, continued to rise fast as the heavy monsoon rains continued.

As of 4:23 pm, the Marikina river’s water level already reached 17.5 meters.

Once the water level reaches 18 meters, the government will raise the warning level to the third alarm, meaning “forced evacuation” for nearby residents.  (Eagle News Service)
