Samar strictly implementing anti-illegal logging campaign, waste segregation

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — The local government of San Isidro, Northern Samar is strictly implementing its campaign against illegal logging.

In fact, San Isidro Mayor Nanding Avila said a number of illegal loggers who are selling woods or logs have already been caught.

In an interview with Net 25’s, Radyo Agila the official said they are strictly implementing the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR’s) initiative to reduce the number of illegal cases.

“Maigting po ang kampanya ng ating DENR at mga kapulisan kahit na po yung ating Philippine Army na kapag sila po’y nakita kapag sila po ay nakita na nagtransport o naghakot ng kahoy magmula sa kabundukan hanggang papunta po dito sa Cay Line, lalo na po yung ibinibyahe papuntang probinsya, iyon po ay talagang minamanmanan na mahuli,” Avila said.

Avila also said that they are also strictly implementing waste segregation in every community in their town.
