While others saw chaos in traffic, motorcycle retailer Ropali Corporation and on-demand delivery app Lalamove saw a livelihood opportunity.
“The basic problem at present is the lack of livelihood, the lack of source of income. With the Lalamove business, I think we can help people who are willing to buy motorcycles,” Carlos B. Pasion, Chief Operations Officer of Ropali Corporation said.

The partnership which was launched at the Ropali Plaza showroom last September 9, 2018 provides discounts and financing for all existing Lalamove partner drivers that includes free LTO registration.
In acquiring brand new motorcycles for their livelihood, “hindi na sila maghahanap ng funder, may mga partner na kaming funder,” Ropali Director Francisco E. Josef said. “When it comes to the bottomline and that is the monthly amortization, we can assure you that we have the lowest,” he added.
Uplifting the Filipino riders’ lives
Lalamove Managing Director Dannah Majarocon said the her company shares the vision of Ropali in uplifting and improving the lives of Filipino riders.
“Right now we have 12,000 partner drivers but we are expecting to grow to over 20,000 before the year ends. And that projection is without the partnership, so it will grow even bigger because of this partnership,” Majarocon said.

She explains having two sets of clients: “the end-users or the end businesses that gets their stuff delivered and also the drivers who rely on us to give them a source of income.”
“When you balance that out and you take care both ends of the spectrum, you create an ecosystem where the riders are empowered and give better service to people,” the Lalamove executive said.
According to Majarocon, apart from the company’s culture of values, Lalamove’s competitive edge is being a one-stop shop for almost all types of vehicles. “We have all types of vehicles that they may need to deliver – from motorcycles, SUVs, vans, L300s and all the way to two ton trucks.”
“The best part is that our drivers are amazingly polite,” she stressed. “We have everything which makes all the difference.”
