Record low water level in La Mesa Dam noted as hot weather persists

(Eagle News) — The water level of La Mesa Dam in Quezon City sunk to an all-time low Thursday morning, March 14, as the water level reached 68.74 meters.

This was already the lowest water level ever recorded in the dam, according to Sonia Serrano of the PAGASA Hydrology Division.

Before this, the lowest water level ever recorded in La Mesa Dam was way back 1998 at 68.75 meters.

It is expected that the water level in La Mesa Dam will still continue to dip as the hot weather persists with no rains in sight.

Meanwhile, Angat Dam’s water level was at 199.63 meters at 6 a.m. Thursday, much lower compared to the recorded 199.94 the previous day.

PAGASA is now monitoring Magat Dam, which supplies water for the irrigation of Isabela and Cagayan.  The dam’s water level at 6 a.m. Thursday was recorded at 158.57 meters.
