Quezon City records 140 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 26 deaths

(Eagle News) – Total COVID-19 cases in Quezon City rose to 140, with 26 coronavirus-related deaths, its local government said.

There are so far 66 out of the 142 total barangays in the city with confirmed coronavirus cases, it said citing data as of 11 p.m. of March 30, 2020.

It also reported at least 70 persons under investigation (PUIs), and 367 persons under monitoring (PUMs).

-18 bgys placed under extreme enhanced community quarantine-

There are also 18 barangays in Quezon City under extreme enhanced community quarantine (EECQ).

They are B.L. Crame, Bahay Toro, Batasan Hills, Central, Culiat, E. Rodriguez, Kalusugan, Maharlika, Matandang Balara, Paligsahan, Pasong Tamo, R. Magsaysay, San Isidro Labrador, San Roque, South Triangle, Tatalon, Tandang Sora and Teachers’ Village West.

Among these barangays, only barangay Central has no COVID-19 cases but is still placed under extreme enhanced community quarantine “due to the presence of the hospitals in the area,” the Quezon City government’s Facebook page said.

-66 barangays in 6 districts with COVID-19 cases-

All six districts have confirmed coronavirus cases. The Quezon City barangay with the most number of COVID-19 cases is B.L Crame (in District 4)  with nine confirmed cases, followed by Matandang Balara (District 3) with eight cases, Culiat and Pasong Tamo in District 6 with seven cases each, and Batasan Hills (District 2) with six cases.

Here are the breakdown of barangays per district with confirmed COVID-19 cases:

-19 barangays in District 1 with 4 barangays under extreme enhanced community quarantine (EECQ) namely barangays Bahay Toro with four cases, San Isidro Labrador with four cases, Maharlika with two cases, and Ramon Magsaysay. The other barangays in District 1 with one COVID-19 case each are the following: -Bagong Pag-asa, Bungad, Del Monte, Lourdes, Manresa, Mariblo, Masambong, Phil-am, Project 6, San Antonio, San Jose, Siena, Sto. Cristo, Sto. Domingo, and West Triangle.

-2 barangays in District 2 namely Batasan Hills which is under extreme enhanced community quarantine with six cases, and Bagong Silangan with two COVID-19 cases.

-12 barangays in District 3 with three barangays under extreme enhanced community quarantine namely barangays Matandang Balara with eight cases, San Roque with three cases, and E. Rodriguez with two cases. The other barangays with COVID-19 cases but are not under EECQ are Libis, Marilag, Masagana, Pansol (2 cases), Silangan, Socorro, Ugong Norte (2 cases), West Kamias, and White Plains.

-23 barangays in District 4 with six of them under extreme enhanced community quarantine (EECQ) namely barangays B.L. Crame with nine cases, Kalusugan with four cases, Paligsahan with two cases, South Triangle with four cases, Teachers’ Village West with three cases, and Tatalon with two cases.
The other barangays in District 4 with COVID-19 cases but are not under EECQ are Damayang Lagi (3 cases), Don Manuel, Dona Imelda (2 cases), Horseshoe (2 cases), I. Concepcion, Kamuning, Kaunlaran, Kristong Hari (2 cases), Pinagkaisahan, Pinyahan (2 cases), Sacred Heart, San Isidro Galas (2 cases), S. Martin de Porres, Sikatuna Village, Teachers’ Village East , U.P. Campus, and Valencia (2 cases).

-Four barangays in District 5: Bagbag (2 cases); Fairview (3 cases); Kaligayahan and Pasong Putik.

-Six barangays in District 6, three of them under extreme enhanced community quarantine (EECQ) namely Culiat with seven cases, Pasong Tamo with seven cases, and Tandang Sora with four cases. The three other barangays which are not under EECQ are New Era, Sauyo and Talipapa.

Meanwhile, the barangays with patient recoveries are: B.L. Crame with 3 recoveries, Bagong Silangan with 2 recoveries, and E. Rodriguez, Matandang Balara, Paligsahan, San Antonio, and Tatalon – all with one patient recovery each.
