President Rodrigo Duterte on Sunday, June 4, visited the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) Escort Flotilla One JS IZUMO (DDH-183) at the Alava Pier of Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) in Olongapo City, Zambales.
The President and Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana conduct a shipboard tour and inspection of the helicopter carrier’s different stations.
JS IZUMO, together with a guide-missile destroyer JS SAZANAMI (DDG-113), berthed at the Subic Bay Port for a four-day goodwill visit to the Philippines which will include confidence-building engagements between the JMSDF and Philippine Navy.
