President Duterte has evidence against Bamboo Triad, says Abella

QUEZON City, Philippines – Malacañang said that President Rodrigo Duterte will reveal evidence if needed, to prove that the Bamboo Triad, allegedly an international illegal drug trafficking group, was able to enter the Philippines.

Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella made the statement in response to Taiwan’s challenge to prove that this Taiwanese group is the number one illegal drug supplier in the Philippines.

Abella also said that President Duterte has sources.

“He (Duterte) has very credible sources, credible international sources,” Abella said  in a Palace briefing.

“That (Taiwan’s request) needs to be brought to the attention of the President and if he finds it necessary, he will respond,” Abella added.

Abella explained that President Duterte is not pointing fingers at any country but is just pointing out the fact of the existence of an organized crime syndicate behind the proliferation of illegal drugs in the Philippines.

“As per his interview yesterday, I think he has a TV interview yesterday..Nationalities. Hindi niya sinabing bansa (He did not say country),” he said.
