MANILA, Philippines — President Aquino is set to leave the country  today, Nov. 9, for the 22nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Summit in China, and for the 25th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit in Myanmar.

President Aquino, together with his official delegation, will attend first the APEC Summit in Beijing from November 9 to 11 before going to Nay Pyi Taw in Myanmar to join fellow leaders in the ASEAN Summit.

The President will also join the dialogue with fellow leaders about promoting disaster resilience, SMMEs (small, micro, and medium enterprises), financial inclusion, and domestic governance.

Secretary Coloma said that there would also be a discussion on the Internet economy, physical connectivity, people-to-people connectivity, and APEC scholarships.

President will also have a dialogue with the chief executive officers or with members of the APEC Business Advisory Council on economic reform for competitive growth, said Coloma.

From Beijing, President Aquino will proceed to Nay Pyi Taw on November 11 for the ASEAN Summit.

On November 12, the President will attend the 25th ASEAN Summit Plenary Session; the 12th ASEAN-India Summit; the 17th ASEAN-Japan Summit; the 6th ASEAN-UN Summit; and the 40th ASEAN-Australia Commemorative Summit.

He will also take part in the launching of the ASEAN Institute of Green Economy, and a gala dinner to be hosted by Myanmar President U Thein Sein for all ASEAN Leaders and their delegations.

On November 13, the President will take part in the 9th East Asia Summit Plenary Session; the 2nd ASEAN-US Summit; the 17th ASEAN-China Summit; and the 17th ASEAN Plus Three Summit. (with a PND report)
