QUEZON City, Philippines, September 9 (Eagle News) — Senators Grace Poe and Nancy Binay on Tuesday inspected the new MRT prototype trains in North Avenue Quezon City.
The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) purchased the prototype from China’s Dalian Locomotive and Rolling Stock Co. Ltd CNR Group on August 14.
Poe said that she wanted to sure that passengers are comfortable and safe.
She added that more tests are needed to ensure that the new model is compatible with the MRT system.
Meanwhile, the said prototype needs to improved its power supply to prevent electrical failure. Poe also said that commuters have long waited for improvements on the train.
