PNP: P4.8 million worth of ecstasy pills seized in Manila; one arrested

(Eagle News) — Police intercepted P4.892 million worth of ecstasy at the Philpost Central Office in Manila on Monday, Feb. 16.

The Philippine National Police said also arrested during the controlled delivery operation was Ronron Salonga, 26, after he received the parcel containing 2,878 ecstasy pills.

The pills, which had been concealed in a box of clothes and shoes shipped by a certain Mary Lumbao Edwards from The Netherlands, had an estimated value of P4,892,600.

The PNP said the package had been consigned to Susan Lumbao of Malate.

Recovered from the Salonga were the authorization letter and photocopy of the ID of Lumbao, some identification cards, a parcel delivery notice and a sales invoice.

Charges for violation of Section 4, Article II of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA No.10863 or Customs Modernization and Tariff Act will be filed against Salonga.
