PNP official urges public to help deter crimes

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, June 23 (PIA) – – An official of the Philippine National Police (PNP) appealed to the public to help the police pin down criminals.

“The public should be vigilant and help police officers in the fight against crime,” said Police Director Noel Lazarus C. Vargas, Directorate for Plans at the National Headquarters in Quezon City.

Vargas, in his visit at the Police Regional Office 02 (PRO2) on Thursday, June 23 said this is in relation to the next administration’s six month deadline to end crime in the country.

He also cited the Filipino concept of Bayanihan as a possible inspiration for the PNP and the people to work together in the war against drugs.

Vargas assured the public that crime rate can be gradually lowered to 40 or 30 percent in the upcoming months.
