Pasig gov’t announces temporary closure of Sto. Tomas barangay hall after official tests positive for COVID-19

(Eagle News)–The Pasig government has temporarily closed the Sto. Tomas barangay hall after a barangay official tested positive for COVID-19.

According to Mayor Vico Sotto, the temporary closure is to allow barangay officials and employees to quarantine themselves.

“Ipapa-PCR test din natin ang lahat ng mga ‘close contacts’ nung nag-positive. (Higit pa ito sa DOH protocol, pero gusto nating makasiguro),” he added.

Those who need to get a barangay clearance or who have urgent concerns may visit the Office of the City Administrator at City Hall instead.

“Don’t panic. Ginagawa lang natin nina Kapitana Eya ito para siguradong makakapag quarantine + test sila ng maayos,” he said.

He reminded residents to stay at home as much as possible.

If they need to go out, he said face masks should be worn at all times, social distancing measures implemented, and hands washed.

As of June 1,Pasig has 613 COVID19 cases.

Over 200, or 250, have since recovered.
