Parts of Roxas Boulevard now closed; INC Worldwide Walk to Fight Poverty set

(Eagle News) – Parts of Roxas Boulevard, between Buendia and Padre Burgos in Manila, are now temporarily closed, as Iglesia ni Cristo members gear up for their Worldwide Walk to Fight Poverty slated on Sunday, May 6.

Authorities said the road closure started past 10:00 p.m on Saturday, May 5, and will last until 10 p.m. of May 6.

Event organizers are now setting up, along Vicente Sotto Avenue, barricades and tents, where event wristbands will be distributed to the participants.

A huge number of INC members have now flocked to the Quirino Grandstand vicinity as they continue to prepare for their charity walk slated at 6 a.m. (Manila Time).

Participants are expected to traverse Quirino Grandstand, Luneta Park, the vicinity of Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex, parts of Diosdado Macapagal Avenue, Buendia Avenue, Taft Avenue and Road 10 for the walk.

Roxas Boulevard is the main venue of the Church’s historic global charity walk  which will be held in more than 300 sites across 18 time zones.

The more than 200 participating sites are in various provinces of the Philippines while more than 100 sites are in other countries. Julber Tadiaman
