Strong El Niño officially starts

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that the Philippines have already met the criteria for the official declaration of strong El Niño affecting the country. DOH creates dengue express lane

The Department of Health (DOH) announced that it will create dengue express lanes in public health care facilities. Said express lane is only activated during an increase in dengue cases in order to prioritize said cases and provide first line health service to dengue patients. COMELEC to temporarily suspend registration and biometrics validation

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) will temporarily suspend the registration of new voters as well as the validation of biometrics of registered voters to give way to the filing of certificate of candidacy of those who plan to run for the 2016 elections. Maynilad warns about longer water interruption

Maynilad said that it may implement longer hours of water service interruption starting October 5 if the water supply in Angat Dam proves to be not sufficient. From the 7-hour service interruption which lasts from 9: 00 PM to 4:00 AM, Maynilad is studying the possibility of increasing said service interruption to 20 hours. Typhoon Dujuan hits southwest China

Typhoon Dujuan hit southwestern China on Tuesday (September 29), causing gusty winds and rains, state media reported. Dujuan made landfall at around 8:50 a.m. (0050 GMT) in the coastal city of Putian after sweeping through parts of Taiwan, CCTV said. The Tropical Storm Risk website downgraded Dujuan to a Category 3 typhoon, from an earlier Category 4 status and estimated it would lose strength on Tuesday.
