Senators condemn violent dispersal

MANILA, Philippines – Several senators expressed condemnation against the violent police dispersal of the protesting farmers in Kidapawan City, Cotabato. According to Senator Miriam-Defensor Santiago, said dispersal was in violation of the farmers’ constitutional rights while Senator Grace Poe will file a resolution ordering the investigation of the said incident. Police dispersal becomes violent

KIDAPAWAN City, Cotabato – Violence resulted from the dispersal undergone by the police against the farmers barricading the Cotabato – Davao Highway in protest of the three kilo rice subsidy every quarter that was offered to them.
