Oplan Tokhang: 383 drug user at pusher sa San Jose City, Nueva Ecija, nanumpa para sa pagbabagong-buhay
SAN JOSE City, Nueva Ecija (Eagle News). Dinaluhan ni Mayor Mario ‘Kokoy” Salvador ang sabay-sabay na panunumpa ng 383 na sumukong illegal drug users at pushers na nangakong hindi na gagamit ng illegal na droga at magbabagong buhay. Ito ay may kinalaman pa rin sa programang “Oplan Tokhang” na kampanya kontra droga ng Philippine National Police (PNP). Sa mensahe ni Mayor Salavador, kailangan aniyang seryosohin ng mga sumuko ang pagbabagong buhay para sa kanilang sarili, pamilya at bayan, dahil may pag-asa pang naghihintay sa kanila. Naglaan naman ng programang pangkaunlaran at pangkabuhayan ang pamahalang lungsod para sa mga ito gaya ng ‘Cash and Food for Work’ kung saan ang mga nagbabalikloob ay magtratrabaho para sa komunidad at makikiisa sa pangangalaga sa kalikasan para sila’y may pagkakakitaan at pagkaabalahan. Bibigyan din sila ng pagkakataong makapag-aral sa pamamagitan ng TESDA Vocational Training Course. Bubuo rin ng mga organisasyon sa mga barangay na tutulong sa mga dating nalulong sa illegal na droga para malaman kung ano ang kani-kanilang mga pangangailangan upang tuloy-tuloy silang makapagbagong buhay.
