QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News)  – Senator Franklin Drilon is the new Senate minority leader. It was Senator Benigno Paolo Aquino IV who nominated Drilon, the Senate president pro-tempore until he was ousted on Monday. Aquino’s motion was seconded by Senate Majority Leader Vicente “Tito” Sotto III. Drilon, for his part, nominated Aquino as his Senate assistant minority leader. Shanghai expands public smoking ban

According to Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella, what happened was that the will of the majority was just upheld after the voting. QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III asked for permission to visit Senator Leila De Lima. Aquino made the statement after the Liberal Party caucus. The former president stands as the LP Chairman Emeritus. Aquino said he is waiting for the “go” signal to visit the senator as he wants to know De Lima’s condition.
