DepEd bans candies and soft drinks in school canteens

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Department of Education is banning the sale of softdrinks and candies in school canteens all over the Philippines. In a memorandum, Education Secretary Leonor Briones said the selling of food with high-saturated fat, sugar and salt content is banned. PAGASA advises public to prepare for extreme heat

QUEZON City, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has advised the public to prepare for rising temperatures after the heat in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija reached 47.8 degree Celsius last March 26. The weather bureau is expecting a continuing rise in the temperature due to the easterlies.
